Do we take the time to hear the song deep within our hearts?  I think we all have the song.  By becoming very still, we can hear it.  It is the song of our life and the path to living fully.

Self Care

Amen.  I have come to the same conclusion.  We can only care for and about others when we care for ourselves.  Love starts at home.  With ourselves, in our own hearts, toward ourselves.  It is not selfish; it is very wise.  What can you do today to show your love and respect for yourself?

Celebrating

I miss the essence of Robin Williams, his brilliance, his wit.  Although I can understand why he chose to leave when he did, after being diagnosed with Lewy Bodies Dementia, it is sad he had to go.  It is sad for all the people with dementia, and for us their caregivers.  May we find strength in each other.

Every Experience is Unique

Sometimes I think we hold onto or try to repeat happy events.  That is not possible.  We can get the same people together at the same place for the same event, and it will be a different experience.  Let us enjoy each event as it occurs -- enjoy its uniqueness.  

Storms Will Occur

Part of becoming a mature human is to know that storms -- those life challenges -- will come to us all.  None is spared.  Life will be a mix of happy events, stressful times, and ordinary time.  It is not personal, so there is no need to ask, "Why me?".  It is life.  Let us enjoy the happy events with one another, support each other during challenging times, and relax during ordinary time.  

Silence

I love silence.  It seems so healing for me.  I also like to laugh and talk with others.  It is the balance.  In silence we dare to look deeply at who we are.  It seems humans spend a considerable amount of time avoiding looking at who they are.  That is a travesty.  Because, at a deep level we are all beautiful.  

New Growth

In springtime we only have to look around at the abundance and renewal of nature to know renewal is a natural phase in life.  Green grass peeks from beneath the snow.  Trees start to show new growth.  If I ever get discouraged, I look to nature.  The beauty, the abundance, the profusion, the perseverance.  Good life lessons.  "For everything there is a season."
