"A young monk asked the Master, 'How can I ever get liberated?' The Master replied, 'Who has ever put you in bondage?'" Spiritual teaching I once complained to my son how I was too busy (in private practice), and he responded, "Who makes your schedule?" I have never forgotten that because I tend to put myself in bondage over and over. Even in caregiving, I was not able to create it in a way I did not feel in bondage. Today, with all the violence in the world against women, girls, people who are of a different race/color/religion/status/belief, what can we as individuals do to not be in the bondage of fear? We can practice kindness. Toward ourselves and all others. |
This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
