"The way to get rid of darkness is with light." Joseph Murphy
Whenever darkness descends, and - it seems it will with the human condition, we can bring in light. I was driving home between towns yesterday, and the lights on my dashboard started flashing again. This is the 4th time in a few months. My first reaction was to be irritated, but then as I drove it occurred to me --- isn't it far better to have a system that tells when something mechanical needs to be checked? I shifted from being irritated about yet another mechanical problem - to a place of gratitude that there is something that alerts me when something needs fixed. How do you bring in the light?

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
