"I have no choice about whether or not I have Parkinson's. I have nothing but choices about how I react to it." Michael J. Fox
I have admired Michael J Fox's open and accepting acknowledgement that he has Parkinson's. I think that will help others who have it. Most of the time we have choices. The exception may be when the brain is in the grips of dementia, mental illness, or depression. But, most of the time, we have choices about how we will react to what life serves us. What is your choice today?

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
