"A cluttered home or office could equal a cluttered mind. In order to make room for the new, we must release the old and outworn, whether it's new thoughts or ideas or new clothes or items." Louise Hay
I finally have energy to declutter. Going through cupboards, discarding outdated items. I try not to waste, so it was hard for me to see some items had gotten past me -- beyond their 'use by' date. But, then, I chose to be gentle with myself. The last couple years have been horrendously stressful. No wonder a package of crackers slipped by. Let us be gentle with ourselves. We are doing the very best we can given our circumstances. And, when we have the energy, let's clean out the clutter.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
