The Stress of Caregiving
Looking back I am actually amazed to see the stress that caregiving was for me -- and I have a bag of tools to deal with it with my psychological training. It is true that he had difficult behavior. It is true that I hated making decisions against his will. But I still have not figured out why caregiving was so stresful for me. I tell you this for you to honor what a huge task caregiving is.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
