"For, in a certain sense, we are all mothers giving birth to new thought, new ideas and new events." Ernest Holmes
When you look at motherhood in this way, we are all mothers. The creative process is available to all of us, regardless of gender. Caregiving is most certainly a motherly thing to do. We focus on the care and well being of another human, and that is what most mothers do. So, today, I applaud all caregivers, all persons who participate in the creative process of birthing something new into their lives, and all people who guide and nurture other people.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
