"The refusal to love is the only unforgivable thing." Madeleine Engel
If we love, we will feel pain. But, pain is an unavoidable part of our human journey, so we may as well love. The burial of my loved one was on a beautiful day. That part is now done. There are still death certificates to deliver, meetings to have, and thank you's to write to the donations to memorials still coming. But, this part - the funeral services and all it entails - is done. It feels good to have closure on this part.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
