"If we give love its proper expression, our life unfolds like a beautiful flower." William L. Fischer
It would be lovely to think of our lives unfolding like beautiful flowers; however, as caregivers for someone with a terminal illness, the reality of what we are dealing with may not seem so beautiful. But, what if it is? What if it is beautiful? Perhaps rather than thinking it is not beautiful, we would be better off changing our perception of what is beautiful. I know I have beautiful moments with my loved one, and I am sure you do too.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
