"Imagination is magical." Charles Fillmore
It takes imagination to be a creative caregiver. Imagination on how to make a very difficult situation better. A rule of thumb I have is I want people in my life who make situations better. I remember once being in a white water rafting accident, and I was astonished at how people handled the situation -- they either made the difficult situation better by their attitudes, or worse. Which do you want in your life? People who see options, see possibilities? Or, people who see dire circumstances? It is really a matter of choice of our perspective.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
