It seems it is human nature to worry, but it does us so little good. Just like in the Peanuts comic strip. Worrying not only does not help bad things from happening in our lives, worrying prevents us from enjoying the present moment, which is usually good. I had to provide some testimony for a court case this week on behalf of a client, and I was astonished how "wigged out" with worry I allowed myself to get before the testimony. For heaven's sake! What was the worst thing that could happen? But, sometimes we cannot control our tendency to worry. We just have to weather it, feel the feelings and move on. |
This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
