"Be willing to be a beginner every single morning." Meister Eckhart
As caregivers we will not have all the answers, nor should we expect ourselves to have them. With Lewy Bodies Dementia, one never knows what degree of lucidity will be available at any given moment, so it is impossible to predict what might come up or how one might react. To consider myself a beginner whenever I am with my loved one helps me. I find that I gauge how he is and then I can adjust myself to meet him there. It is okay to not have all the answers.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
