Surrender

This even means relationships, and our control over what we think we may be able to do to change the path of someone else's life.  Perhaps Stotz is correct, that a purpose of life is to surrender.  Surrender to the fact that we cannot control the path of the disease our loved one has, surrender to the reality that leaves us in:  financially, emotionally, physically.  There is much we can do to provide more comfort for our loved one, but we cannot change the course of the disease, and we will kill ourselves trying.  This is true even if what we are trying to control is not a disease, but is simply the behavior of another person.  Let's consider surrendering the desire to control other people and situations.  What we will have is freedom.
