"To see takes time." Georgia O'Keefe
To see our loved one takes time. Someone said to me recently that they no longer go see my loved one because he is often asleep, and I wondered - what difference does that make? He never sleeps for very long, and, if I get there and he is asleep, I sit and pray. I use a meditation method I have used since I was a child, but a person could do anything - as long as it brings positive energy to the situation. What do you do to spend time with your loved one?

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
