"Worry is praying for what we don't want." David Goldberg
As caregivers, there may be plenty about which we can worry. Will our money be enough to pay for the expensive care? Will our own health remain stable under the stress? Will our loved one's death be peaceful? But, we know the familiar saying: "If we are not part of the solution, then we are part of the problem." Worry adds negative energy to whatever is already troubling us. The best thing is to take whatever action we can, and then let it go. We can do no more. And, do not then also worry about it. Do the best we can, and let it go.

This blog is written to provide information and support to persons who are providing care for someone with dementia. A first indicator of dementia is when someone has trouble doing a task once familiar and easy for them. If you have begun to be concerned about someone's memory or cognitive processing, help the person receive a physical exam, to include lab work, and an appointment with a neuropsychologist for an evaluation of memory and cognitive processing.
